Max A Mandel's Par 72 golf course layout sprawls across 270 acres of rugged south Texas landscape. The terrain is covered with 100-year-old mesquite trees and two vast arroyos, which were incorporated beautifully into the layout. Also, there is a variety of elevation changes across the landscape that can be challenging but the design manages to seamlessly blend dramatic features and playability. Crafted by noted architect Robert Trent Jones II, the course caters to golfers of all ability levels, with five sets of tees available and yardages ranging from 7,069 from the back tees to 4,759 for the forward tees. Tiger tees stretch to 7,297 yards while a dedicated “juniors” teeing area on each hole is incorporated to increase enjoyment for family play.
